The State of New York is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent below 1990 levels by the year 2050. What are other targets that we should be aiming for that will help us achieve this larger goal, in the areas of transportation, land use, and quality of life? Some examples of targets could include: reducing traffic deaths; increasing rail and bus ridership; or decreasing the rate of land consumed by development on a per capita basis.
