The ‘Not In My Back Yard’ (NIMBY) mentality has always played a huge factor in the acceptance of just about any regional waste management solution including composting, land filling, or the expansion of existing transfer stations. The NIMBY mentality is often a detriment to creating new infrastructure anywhere people already live. We want to try and find a way to work around this mentality so that useful projects can get done.
