A significant amount of usable gray water is required, by law, to be directed into waste water systems. A great source of potential potable water savings could be achieved by implementing standards for the safe use of gray water. This could be done by researching existing gray water usage laws nationally, globally, determining practices best suited to the MidHudson Valley region, develop prototypes best suited for the area, collect performance data and then issue guidelines for code changes and local implementation.
